Qualification
Dr. Mahesh Fulwani is Director; and Senior Interventional Cardiologist at Shrikrishna Hrudayalaya & Critical Care Centre. He completed his MBBS in 1991, MD (Internal Medicine) in 1995 from the Government Medical College, Nagpur and DM in Cardiology from prestigious KEM Hospital and Seth GS Medical College, Mumbai, in 1998. He is Diplomat of National Board (1997); was awarded fellowship in Clinical Paediatric Cardiology (1998), and fellowship of European Society of Cardiology (2012).
eXPERIENCE
He is a well-known Interventional Cardiologist and is practicing Cardiology since over 20 years. He has worked at Wockhardt Hospital, Care Hospital, Child Hospital, and Suretech Hospital in Nagpur.
Dr. Mahesh Fulwani is an expert in Complex Coronary Angioplasties, Primary Angioplasty in Acute Myocardial Infarction, Permanent Pacemaker and Defibrillator implantation, Heart Failure device (CRT) implantation, Congenital heart disease intervention like device closures and Valvuloplasties, Carotid, Renal and Peripheral Vascular Interventions and Venous Interventions like IVC Filter placement and Venoplasties.
He was President of Cardiological Society of India in 2004. He is a strong proponent of lifestyle interventions for the prevention of Heart Disease, Hypertension, Stroke, Diabetes and Metabolic Syndrome. He has taken several initiatives to educate the general public, employees working with several government and corporate organization, and medical practitioners on healthy lifestyle habits. He enjoys serving population residing in remote and rural India by organizing health assessment and treatment camps frequently. He is involved in spreading awareness in creating awareness regarding early recognition of heart attacks and fast tracking access to medical care for patients with heart attacks. Dr. Mahesh Fulwani Performed over 20,000 Coronary procedures including over 15,000 transradial coronary procedures, He conducts conferences and workshops at an international level to train budding interventionists.
He has organized international ECHO summit for consecutive 15 years.
Quest for advancement in biomedical science and development of newer and effective modalities has built a researcher in him. He has been Principle Investigator on several multicentre, international, phase II and phase II clinical trials.
He has several scientific publications in national and international journals and has presented scientific papers / posters at both national and international conferences.
